FCB U12'a had a double headed of tournaments over the weekend, Bracknell Cavaliers on Saturday and Camberley Boys on Sunday. While missing out by a only point on Saturday to progress, Sunday saw the team only concede 1 goal, win all 7 games and lift the winning Camberley Boys Cup trophy.
Congratulations boys, well deserved.
Kerrie C has kindly written a tournament report :
A seven game winning streak saw FCB deservedly lifting the trophy at the camberley tournament. The victory came after a busy weekend of football, played without their usual reliable pair of safe hands in goal.
Today's tournament started with a wobble as the opponents only shot on goal ricocheted of the cross bar and found its way over the line...1-0 down with only minutes played! It was the wake up call we needed as the shots were fired at the goalie, the final score was 2-1 fcb and the boys were on a roll. The next game brought a 3-0 victory, followed by a third goalkeeper change and a 2-0 win. The last game in the group again resulted in a 2-0 victory and a third clean sheet meant only one goal had been conceded in the group stages! Finishing top meant it would be straight through to the quarter finals for FCB. Tough competition after a long break eventually saw us pick up a 1-0 victory and move on to the semi finals. One goal was once again enough to see us through to the final and yately town stood in the way of the first trophy of the season.
Once more one goal was enough to get us over the line and make us winners!!
The boys showed amazing spirit and togetherness today linking up well with one and other to create some wonderful football. Every game was a pleasure to watch and seeing the boys lift the cup was well worth it! Well done boys!!! ???
