FC Bracknell Crowned Champions of the Slough Town Junior Cup After 2-1 Win Over Hype Train FC

Arbour Park, Wednesday 23rd April 2025 — FC Bracknell claimed a memorable 2-1 victory over Hype Train FC to lift the Slough Town Junior Cup, capping off a spirited performance under the lights at Arbour Park.

The opening 20 minutes were nervy for Bracknell, with a few sketchy moments as they worked to settle into the rhythm of the final. But the breakthrough came in the 23rd minute. Jamie Smith, lively down the left wing, whipped in a dangerous cross that found Ben Poynter, who made no mistake with a sharp finish to give Bracknell the lead.

Bracknell continued to push and doubled their advantage in the 56th minute. A cross into the box by Charlie Craske took a deflection off teammate Antonio, causing confusion in the Hype Train defence. The loose ball dropped kindly for player-manager Bailey Gandolfi, who pounced from close range to make it 2-0 — a real poacher’s finish at a crucial time in the match.

Hype Train FC pulled one back in the 72nd minute, setting up a tense final period, but Bracknell held strong. At the heart of their resilience was Charlie Craske, who not only played a part in the second goal but dominated midfield all night. His energy, composure, and relentless work rate earned him the Man of the Match award.

With its roots going back over a century, the Slough Town Junior Cup is one of the area’s most prestigious grassroots competitions. Wednesday’s final added another thrilling chapter to its history — competitive, dramatic, and full of local pride.

For FC Bracknell, the final whistle brought scenes of celebration and the reward for a season of hard work, belief, and unity.
